Keep On Running

Altrincham and District Athletics Club has been running (literally) since the 1950’s from its Timperley Recreation Ground home.  ADAC now want to take on the operation of the site on a long term basis and have engaWomensged The Sport Business to prepare the business plan they need to initiate negotiations with the Council.

“Our role here has been to provide sport-specific advice and guidance around facility management and also to provide an objective and independent analysis of the financial plans so that there is a high degree of certainty around them as the club enters negotiations with the Council” said Paul Smith.

“The club continues to create high quality athletes at all ages and agreement of the lease will provide the basis for an immediate investment in a new track facility which will establish the as one of the best facilities in the area.”

Join Forces With The Robins

Altrincham FC is the most successful non-league club in the country, but it is much more than a Football Club, it is an integral part of the community. New Board members have recently joined the club and the first team secured promotion back into Conference football at the first time of asking.

The Sport Business is supporting all communications and commercial activity at Moss Lane. With an exciting season ahead, we want as many businesses as possible to be a part of that journey. New corporate and sponsorship packages are now available with exciting fixtures to look forward to. Along with Greater Manchester derbies with FC United, Stockport County, Curzon Ashton and Ashton United; high profile fixtures with Kidderminster Harriers, Darlington, York City and Chester await.

Friends Of Bingley Pool

Bingley Pool is a fabulous facility right at the heart of the community, providing high-class swimming and lifesaving services as well as a gym and sauna. Friends logo

Bradford Council’s leisure strategy is to invest in alternative facilities but the Council is also working to support the transfer to local people.  The Sport Business is currently working with the ‘Friends of Bingley Pool’ to develop clear and feasible plans for this takeover.  To date, we’ve carried out an analysis of local demand and supply for the leisure sector and completed a detailed analysis of the current financial performance of the site.

On the basis of this analysis we’ve then prepared a robust business plan setting out a number of viable proposals which will be used for the negotiations with the Council going forward.

“This is a great scheme to be involved in,” said Paul Smith. ” The Friends are a really passionate group who care about Bingley and have the skills to take on the running of the pool.  It’s also clear that the transfer has the support of the Council and we’ve been able to develop a very strong core plan which can now form the basis for the final negotiations.”
