The Sport Business is currently working with City of Manchester Amateur Swim Team (COMAST).

The club is currently an unincorporated association and as such has unlimited liability and no protection for its members if anything should go wrong.  We have analysed the clubs objectives, risks and finances to identify the most appropriate legal structure for the club so that it can offer protection to its volunteers aOpen 2016nd maximise revenue through tax relief and other schemes.

This initial work has also included an analysis of the club’s employment position with regard to its coaches and management staff.  We are now working with the club to prepare new contracts in line with current employment legislation.  Following approval by the Board, we are also setting up the club as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

“COMAST has grown massively over recent years and we were very conscious that the structures and contracts we had in place were no longer suitable for a club of our size.  Through the advice and guidance from Paul we have ensured that we are looking after our volunteers and our staff and that we have a structure in place which will help us to remain Manchester’s premier swimming club” said Mike Hilton of the club.
